"One of the most interesting black metal projects from South America is TIFFO. A one-man band and the only member, Jaketeme Zapelloni, is living in São Paulo/Brazil. Three songs are on this digital release and only the first - called “0″ - has a classic instrumentalization. The two remaining ones are pure ambient / keyboard sound collages, but they also work very well and create an eerie atmosphere, reminiscent of old sci-fi movies.

Simplicity (on one hand) is the motto of this project. “0″ - the first track - sounds very rough and harsh. Raw lo-fi sounds are combined here with a chaotic rhythm, blast beats, sad melodies and throaty vocals. Jaketeme’s music has a basement/rehearsal charme. But at the same time I have to say, that this thing here has passion, darkness, some kind of manic energy and it bursts here or there with creativity. Avec Uma saída, Pessimista accouche enfin de son premier album (le seul long format de sa carrière à l'heure actuelle) et, malgré la pochette qui pourrait laisser penser à un DSBM somme toute assez classique, Jaketeme a beaucoup, vraiment beaucoup à offrir. Les idées en gestation dans son split avec Order of the Wolf prennent tout leur sens : les émotions y sont variées et sublimées grâce à des incursions dans la musique brésilienne.
